Prices Rose 7.4 Percent in November

Home prices nationwide, including distressed sales, increased on a year-over-year basis by 7.4 percent in November 2012 compared to November 2011 according to the CoreLogic HPI® report. This change represents the biggest increase since May 2006 and the ninth consecutive increase in home prices nationally on a year-over-year basis. Home Values Rise but Recovery is Uneven

Home Values Rise but Recovery is Uneven   Median national home values rose 1.3 percent from the second to the third quarter – the biggest quarterly gain since March 2006, when home values rose 1.5 percent and the fourth consecutive quarter of increases, Zillow reported today. Existing Home Sales Increase

Existing home sales for October rose to 4.97 million, a 1.4% increase from September, and a 13.5% increase from October 2010. An additional positive sign is the decline in the number of homes on the market. Total inventory for October fell 2.2% from September.
